Mega Absol is good, but keeping it out in the face of Whimsicott is not good, what with Moonblast and all.
Sableye was a bad pick for most of daniel's team, since he has a lot of powerful special attackers.
Honchkrow had potential to do a lot of damage, but leaving it out when Encored is not good. Brave Bird is what you want, so switching to Sableye would have been best. Sableye could burn Abomasnow before dying, which would help with Ice Shard. Even if you couldn't win, it's important to play like you could so you don't get lazy.

You were actually better off going with Toxic in round1. I had to decide between trying to boost to actually do damage and just sticking with attackspamming to keep you from regaining multiscale.

I went with Aqua Tail for neutral coverage against Steel, instead of Bullet Seed... both attacks are good but it's hard to pick one. Tail Slap is so powerful it's your bread and butter, though.

daniel - 0619 4281 7615 (Grass) !pikaWbWnAw Wed 19 Mar 2014 04:56:47 No. 18553134 Report Looking back at the past tourney, to be honest i kinda liked the first tourney a lot better than this one, the first tourney was the tourney in which each other got to know each other best and make friends, it was fun discovering the other participants personalities and battle styles, and the threads were always so alive, people trading, doing multis, talking about their types, with Q an all the stuff, dont take this wrong, but this tourney seems kinda ded, NOT THAT I DONT LIKE IT PLEASE DONT GET ME WRONG, its just, it doesnt feel the same, yes we get hype from our matches and we have some multis, the thing is, it doesnt feel the same, especially we had christmas and new year going on and the ambient was so joyful, hopefully the summer tourney lives up as the first tourney.

As for houndoom- it really suffers when not in the sun, and seeing as you don't have any other sunny day users I'd consider switching it out for something with a bit of Sp.D, like a mega-tyranitar.
Others to consider are Mega Gyarados, and then you could use something like a Krookodile to cover your electric weakness and something like a Mandibuzz could be used as general defogger.
Speak to Heather, they'll know heaps as they were the previous dark trainer here

As for Scrafty, you may be right, I wanted to make sure I had enough of a defensive aspect but he's probably already bulky enough and Umbreon can cover the rest.
I wasn't sure about Houndoom either, I'll try him, but the spot is definitely flexible. I don't think I can afford another Water/Dark with Gyarados even with Krookodile (maybe I could? I'll do some brainstorming later) but I'll be sure to give TTar a look.

Scrafty is pretty awesome. I run him Bulk Up, Drain Punch, Dragon Tail, and Crunch/Rest.
I'm not too sure on Sharpedo, but you COULD use a Choice Band, since you're battling other monos, you'll likely know which move to use. Swap Protect with Crunch in that case.
Greninja basically needs the Life Orb to hit hard and be an awesome revenge killer. Switch Grass Knot for Hidden Power Fire if you don't feel like breeding for IVs.
Umbreon's good. Pretty much what you'd expect. I'd give him dark pulse or something to prevent taunt bait, though.
And Houndoom seems pretty good. I prefer Absol as my mega, but that's just fine as well.

I'm not sure, I think I like Foul Play, that way I can hit pretty hard with zero atk/spa investment at all. I'll try the others though, they're TMs anyway so it shouldn't be hard to test.
Sharpedo can't use Choice items, it needs the protect. It's base defenses are like 40def/40spdef or something so it just dies instantly without the turn 1 protect for a Speed Boost
I really do like the idea of Grass Knot, I'm 99% sure I'll end up doing that instead. I forgot it was a Special attack.

I do see your point, but Greninja really needs the Life Orb to become a really good revenge killer/special sweeper.
I honestly don't know what else you could put on Sharkpedo. If they aren't running the item clause, you could just do another Life Orb. They're pretty easy to get in the BM.

Since he wouldn't be taking recoil any more, he's either protecting or attacking first (and hopefully flinching the opponent), then once he finally gets hit by a revenge killer and triggers sash (if he gets hit, it's likely that it would be an OHKO, his defenses are so bad) I'll Destiny Bond next turn, which *should* go first after all the boosting.
You're definitely right that Greninja needs the orb.
