So what was with the orbs from D/P/P in the same cave as Zygarde? Any reason they're there?

Same reason as to why they were at the Dragonspiral Tower in B2W2.

They're drawn to dragons, I guess.

I think it's supposed to be a hint that Zygarde is getting his own orb. There are four paths you can follow and they all have one of the orbs except for one path that leads to an empty spot. Why else would they make that fourth spot?

Honestly, I was expecting Pokemon to be at the end of each path. Just the orbs being there seemed a bit off.

They basically had to place the orbs somewhere, since one's integral to getting the alternate form of Giratina. Since the orbs power up dragons, you've got a cave where a powerful dragon is dwelling... It sort of makes sense to me.

Because there was nowhere else to put them. You've already got like five different npcs giving you rare and powerful items that they shouldn't even have, like the mirror to transform the genies, the meteorites for deoxys, the gracidea for shaymin, the drives for genesect and the fucking dna splicers for kyurem. At some point seeing all these npcs just giving the items away kills your suspension of disbelief.

That's what headcanons are for!
The hiker(?) that gives you the drives was a Plasma scientist
The reflecting cave is the area where the original mirror was created the scientist found a second mirror on an archaeological dig near by.
The punk that gives you the DNA splicers was an ex-thief who stole them from the B/W2 protag she later feels some guilt after she finds out what happened and decides to give them to a trainer that has managed to tame Kyurem.
The Gracidea and meteors are pretty reasonable though.

but Zygarde isn't even shit, it's better than normal Kyurem and I think it's getting tested to be banned from UU.
And I doubt they'd make a Mega for a Kalos Pokémon, it wouldn't make sense.

better than garchomp since it has more special defense and it can actually take Ice Shards because of its great defense, if you don't really want to use Extremespeed and outspeed them.
Also it can deal with talonflame pretty easily and it blocks Rotom wash's volt switch.
