Stop being retarded. I'm a huge fan of the Gen 1 metagame, but it's definitely not balanced.
It's strange lies in the fact that it is very easy to learn yet also very hard to master as well as the great amount of prediction required if you want to get really good at it.

It is a fact that there aren't very many viable mons in Gen 1, but those are actually very balanced between each other.

The Physical/Special split and Items are the most important changes in metagame history.

And even if you ban Mewtwo, there were like six viable mons. You had Tauros, Starmie, Articuno, and...uhh...Chansey? Maybe Alakazam?

Yes, but you could say the same about any other gen. Maybe except Gen 2 OU where Snorlax is the absolute king, but on that note, Tauros is not far from being the same for Gen 1 OU.

There are far more than 6 viable mons in Gen 1 OU and Articuno and Slash Persian are far from being among the best.

I like the current gen VI VGC meta, the restricted choice makes you create new strategies, plus the are too many underrated mons.
It's true that almost everyone uses the same pokèmon but that pokèmon now has a wide variety of intersting sets.

On the contrary, it is the only generation in which:

Depends on what you call balanced. Currently there are 718 Pokemon and 47 of them are OU. That is roughly 6,5%
In Gen 1 we had 151 Pokemon with 14 being OU, that is roughly 9,3%.

Gengar was temporarily BL in ADV. It ended the gen in OU.

Starmine could, too, however that would realistically require Aegislash to be banned, and of everything currently allowed in OU it's the second or third most likely to.
