I would like to point out that Sableye has a legitimate set (though definitively not very viable lol) that punishes any non-fire physical sweepers through a combination of WoW/Swagger/Foul Play.

I would also like to point out that most of the staff and the deosharp crowd are huge fucking faggots. I love how paraflinch 'rachi was used multiple times in gen 5 as an alright-but-not-great thing, and they even mention it to this day as a possible check to Xerneas, but somehow BOOBOOKEYS and some twerp trolling parts of the lower ladder with a team of 6 pranksters is somehow an outrage. They never cared about paraflinch, they never cared about parafusion, how is fucking swagger "harmful to the metagame" then? And smogon will follow shortly because they're also faggots, Raging over something that applies pressure to your hyperoffense button is ridiculous. If they were to ban every theoretical "coin flip" (lol pretty malleable definition), the metagame would be so thin you'd barely be able to use some movepools. Yeah, I'm mad.

Swagger is no more of a coin flip than a plethora of other things, and it hardly frustrates any team that isn't made of paper. Smogon itself might not defend HO per se, but it's pretty fucking obvious they don't think it's a "legitimate" (again, very malleable definition) competitive move, which the deosharp crew will happily agree with. This ban is stupid and the only reason it was even considered was because of whining over two pokémon with identical sets that annoyed some people. This is completely ridiculous.

100% Confusion inducing moves really are pretty bullshit to too hefty a degree. A 50/50 chance of being able to move or not at all, AND damaging yourself based on your own attack stat? The game literally becomes a simple coin toss about whether or not you can contest your opponent's moves.

This is as opposed to paralysis, which is a less punishing but still annoying 25% chance of doing nothing, but at least you aren't hurting yourself.

I for one am glad to see at least one community realise this, and I hope to god smogon follows suit or even a bit further and bans all the straight up confusion inducing moves (eg Confuse Ray, Flatter, and not moves with confusion as a small secondary effect such as Water Pulse).

Granted, with the buff to Knock Off it's hardly relevant, but Natu can be pretty damn bulky with Eviolite (bulkier than Xatu, even though that's not saying much). It's not like Xatu is much better than its previous evolution.

With the nerf to Sleep mechanics, the ease to set up Safeguard, the fact that only one allowed mon' can use the move and because it is predictable as shit, there is no reason to ban Dark Void, git gud

If either of you have actually tried to run anything with minimize or any sort of evasion tatics you'd realise that it fails more often than not.

In the end almost everything about pokemon is luck-based to a degree. It's just like any card game like hearthstone or MTG. As soon as you realise this the sooner you can just play whatever you like and just have fun playing a video game

Evasion is a weird little thing. If it works, it's fucking OP. If it doesn't, it was absolutely useless. There are seldom other moves or strategies that are so absolute in their effectiveness. eg: a Trick Room team can win without ever using Trick Room, a rain sweeper can be a threat even without rain, a support mon' can be made useful even if taunted. Evasion? It either works or it doesn't.
