Now that Nintendo are shutting down the wifi capabilities of Gen 4/5, how many of you are snatching up as many Pokemon as possible before the date?

Why would you want gen 4/5 pokes from the GTS when gen 6 are so much easier to breed with pentaperfect IVs? You can always transfer up from 4th to 5th with 2 DS', and then 5th to 6th from one 3DS.

You can still do that without the nintendo wifi.

You can only still gen if you have a flash cart or action replay.

All the other scrubs that relied on wifi will just to buy one of the two or git gud :^)

Click code generator.
Figure out the rest for yourself.
And one final tip make sure on option in target game it's on the right game or it won't work.

Uh, why wouldn't the wi-fi genning work? The method involves redirecting the DNS away from Nintendo's, so it doesn't connect to their servers at all.

It's not like Nintendo is going to send out a worldwide electromagnetic pulse that destroys all the wireless radios in all the systems. You can still use it to connect to unofficial servers, which is exactly how things like Pokecheck and PokeGTS work.

Either get a fucking flash cart or an action replay or beg or learn to deal with it.

The DS system itself phones home to the Nintendo Wifi servers before even checking the DNS. If those are down, you can't even connect to fake GTS servers.

You could do that

I use the save backup tool that can be loaded onto flashcarts and can overwrite retail cart saves with new ones, like for instance a save full of genned mons, and then transfer them to bank

Well that gives me less time to play other games. I'm doing legit runs on PT, HSSS, BW and BW2 to get all of the legendaries.
