Every so often I restart a game with a predetermined team. I box all of the pokemon except my "starter" (I box the actual starter pokemon, unless I plan to make it part of my team), and dont add them to the roster until I meet them like Ash does in the anime.

Ex: im walking through the skiddo ranch, and I find a mudkip that was raised by a gogoat and thinks its one of them. I help it understand itself, and it joins my party at that point.

I dont catch pokemon, and do things that character would do (like only use natural medicine, or always go visit his family in different parts of the city).
Am I the only one?
