>>18585575I dunno, it always seemed to me that May was much more into Ash then Misty ever was, so the writers wanted to come up with something to write her out of Ash's life prior to her being replaced by Dawn.
There was a few scenes of May and Drew near the end there that seemed pretty blatant with the subtext if I remember them correctly. It's been so long since I last watched that arc.
