Not to mention that despite the fact that people call Smogon ban-happy, they have way fewer banned Pokemon than any Nintendo format, and currently the only Pokemon they ban that GF doesn't is Blaziken, M-Luke, M-Gengar, and M-Kanga.
Most of Smogon's clauses ban a handful of moves/abilities, many of which aren't viable and are simply there to reduce luck spamming, while things like sleep clause only effect in-battle behavior. Plus the difference is that unlike VGC bans, these are based on gameplay and relative power in the meta, for the purpose of making the game more competitive.
