Nope, no shiny in 90 boxes. I AM going for a 31/31/31/x/31/31 Magikarp (breeding two 6IVs with different languages) but it eludes me. To be fair, I have had ridiculous luck in the past (Beldum in less than 20 eggs, Skarmory in a single box, Vivillon after around 170 and so on).

I wish it was true but even my personal experience doesn't seem to validate this. I seems close to 1/800 - 1/1000 to me

If you have one holding a Destiny Knot, it will guarantee that at least 5 of the IV's shared between the parents is passed down. It's no guarantee,but it's the best you can do for trying to pass down IV's.

You re-enter the safari after 10 encounters and so on.

Also, Bank wasnt every good at stopping hacked Pokemon, so even if those Ho-Oh were legit, many things that aren't legit have still snuck through.

I've had great luck this week, I finally succeeded in chaining my first shiny (a Skiddo), and I randomly ran into a shiny Boldore on victory rode while replaying White 2 (which hasn't happened in about seven years).

- I hatched my shiny froakie within 60 eggs (I actually didn't notice it was shiny when I hatched it, I hatched a full box after him and then noticed him

It finally happened. Only got Amie pics for Squirtle. Perfect spread and I couldn't be happier.
Also got a shiny Impish Geodude while horde battling on Victory Road for Exp. Only one Magnitude went off for that battle and it had Rock Head as its ability, but I might capsule it so I get sturdy.

you still haven't gotten your eevee yet? You should try looking in the friend safari threads (where people share friend codes) and get yourself an eevee friend. That way, if you get too tired of hatching eggs, you can switch to running around the safari.

Any tips on Gen III shiny hunting in tall grass? I only have 1 shiny so far, but Electrike/Manectric is now my top priority since Azurill's too hard, and I keep getting too distracted to hunt for it.

You guys're probably gonna instead ask "why aren't you hunting in XY?" instead, but whatever, still gonna look for advice.
