both sets work pretty well and have great utility, although knock off is obviously better than acid spray, the -2 spdef is good for mindgames or for people who think they're going to tank eelektross. both sets have self healing, and both have perfect neutral coverage (the ONE caveat being that the special set only hits chandelure neutrally with volt switch), both sets can pivot out. hell you can even run dragon tail if you want.
eel has comparable atk and spatk so either is fine, they both work well for different things but i've had more success with the physical set personally, probably because knock off is so fucking strong right now. having no weaknesses and actually decent special bulk is pretty strong and catches people off guard. just be wary of strong phys moves or mold breaker ground attacks.
never tried it in OU because i don't like OU all that much, and being real eel's stats can't keep up with some of the shit up there, but i love this guy. without species clause i would probably run both sets and maybe a subcoil dtail set too for ultra-mindgames....
