How the fuck are people able to find shinies so easily? I've been playing pokemon for 11 years and I've only ever seen the Red Gyarados in the wild. Even without the shiny charm basically everyone does better than me.

Most of the people in these threads find them easily because we exploit things that raise the chances of finding shines (Masuda Method, Friend Safari, Chaining, etc.). FInding one when you aren't actually looking for it is pretty rare, and considered lucky.

Have you considered hunting for anything in particular?

Have you got the Shiny Charm yet? If not, it might take you a little longer, if yes, it'll still probably take you a little bit longer. Just keep at it, mate. Shiny Absol is most definitely worth the effort.

Yeah, I've shifted enough pokemon over to gen 6 that i can breed everything i need to fill up my national dex, but still, there had to be a somewhat reliable way of getting a shiny before the shiny charm existed

I think chaining was the quickest way to get a shiny before the Charm. I think I had a chain of 40 or something when I tried getting a shiny Shinx in Pearl. Masuda Method has always been the most reliable way of getting a competitively viable shiny, and in some cases the only really reliable way to get shinies that couldn't be chained.

I suppose if you don't have 3 battle-ready shinies we might be able to bend the rules slightly for you (provided the 3 trainers you battle with are ok with it).

As for the Shiny Lock, it's so they can taunt us until events are released.
I personally find it quite ironic that Masuda's favourite Pokémon is shiny locked.

Just use the ability capsule for flame body. With like 128 speed it can outspeed most things anyway. Realistically speaking, the only pokemon playable in OU right now that can outspeed t-flame or use priority moves are Scizor, Azumarill, and scarfed Pseudos, which Talonflame would either be unable to counter anyway and get ganked, or easily counter without Gale Wings. Shiny 5IV Flame Body isn't unusable, if you went through that many boxes to get there.

Flame Body is acquired via evolution, not Capsule. But besides which, giving priority to a base 120 STAB move like Brave Bird is pretty good, not to mention Gale Wings also gives priority recovery if you're carrying Roost. And thanks to that base 128 Speed stat Talonflame can outspeed most things that carry priority moves anyways and knock them out before they can pull their move off (provided it is a +1 priority move). There's no reason to use Flame Body when you have access to a far superior ability.

It has a Jolly nature, meaning it lowers the Sp.Atk and raises the Speed. It's perfect for a fast Physical attacker. Give it a bunch of Physical moves and a Scarf/Band, it should do just fine.

The chances of three consecutive eggs being female HA Eevees is just 0.1157625%, so that's pretty rare, yeah. Still about 4.7 times as likely as meeting a random shiny, and 1.6 times more likely than hatching a shiny through MM. Hella' uncommon for sure.

Hey it's me, the guy who said a while back would try to breed a perfect IV HA shiny shroomish. I'm still trying at that but no luck yet. I DID however manage to find this little guy in a friend safari with perfect IVs in SpA, speed and HP. Any chance I could use this guy for online matches? I'd be willing to use a capsule on it.

My very first Shiny was a Torrent Frogadier.
I caught it on my friends birthday, and even named it after him
But the hunt only lasted 40 minutes, so I couldn't resist going for another one for the Protean. That hunt took a week.

To be fair, I actually used both Frogs for like two months. Having my opponent have to figure out the movesets of two frogs/which one was the Protean one actually worked really well

Since I learned to MM better IVs onto my shones I've considered re-breeding my Frogue...but I've already got him to level 100, it took 100 boxes to get him, he's got Protean and the two stats that matter, and I feel really attached to him.

Well if you take Shield forme's defensive stats into account with the HP you've got impressive bulk, though not all Aegislash sets have invested HP EVs. It'd be nice to be able to take a hit, but with 7 in HP it's pretty tough. I'd use it as trade fodder if I weren't going to keep it.

Liz, you know what you must do, right? You have to breed all 3 starters and ask your opponents which starter they last chose and swap them out accordingly. It's the only way to be totally legit.

I've been trying to watch it (on the 10th doctor + Martha episodes) but I just really hate David Tennant as the Doctor. and If i skip his run i miss huge shit so i can't even skip. Either I put up with it or don't watch at this point.

Actually, I found Tennant a lot better when Rose was out of the picture. And Season 3 (Martha's Arc) has two of the best episodes ever, "Blink" and "The Family of Blood", the Family being one of Tennant's best performances on the show.

People who dislike Tennant (Although I honestly dont see how you can) tend to absolutely love Smith, so I say stick it out.

It's honestly just me. I preferred the 9th doctor much more.
Plus I hated Rose to the point of wishing she'd die, and him ignoring the obviously better Martha is pissing me off royally, and from what my friend told me it ain't gonna get much better till the 11th doctor for me.
