For me, it'd be the Ranger series. The gameplay, general game length and sidequests were all wonderful.

Pokemon Conquest. I like the fact that the Warlords and Warriors looked very similar in design to their signature Pokemon, the 17 kingdoms (18 if we have Conquest 2) and the storyline. The only thing I hated were the sprites and the fact that the Pokemon were stuck with only one move which pretty much left a lot of Pokemon defenseless at times (Musharna is a HUGE example).

I actually really liked the Mystery Dungeon series. The first games were incredible, Darkness/Time/Sky were decent, and Gates to Infinity was pretty shitty. But the music and story of BRT/RRT are absolutely fantastic.

Pokémon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness.

The whole anti-hero aspect of the protagonist from Colosseum is something we haven't seen much of since.

Why won't Nintendo get Genius Sonority to make another shadow Pokémon-themed adventure?

how good were the Ranger games? How long did it last and what Pokemon could you transfer over from the three games? It's a shame that Manaphy only got one event and that was either TRU or the Ranger games in general.

You can't transfer pokemon from each game, and they are a decent size for a spin off game. I advise skipping the first game because the capture system isn't as good as it is in the other two.

What am I missing out on? I tried playing Explorers of Sky but I got sick of it within 5 hours. I never found the gameplay engaging and I was already feeling the repetition, and the characters actually managed to be more annoying than the main series ones.

In all honesty, I prefer PMD1 because there less of a worry about plot, and the gameplay was more punishing. Honestly if you didn't like the gameplay you won't like the game.

Ranger is always fun as hell, though.

The pokemon mystery dungeon games were my absolute favorites when I was a kid! I loved the fact you were able to play as the pokemon themselves instead of the trainer. Each pmd game's ending to this day makes me tear up.

That made me cry for a bit at the end as well, but it didn't move me nearly as much as explorers of time/darkness. Red/blue are still my favorite simply for the nostalgia they bring me. I also loved the fact you were able to walk around town as any of your teammates later on, while the later games removed this feature entirely
