I heard it could be a bit easy when I first started, so my first play through has been on Hard. Good choice since at times it is absurdly tough (without being unfair), but I love it that way.
Also the characters are so damn lovable. I didn't care for them much at first but they grew on me. Ringabel is one of the best characters I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying in all of vidya.
Also fantastic art style, lore, a massive log book thing with everything you can imagine from enemies, characters, locations, extra hidden logs, etc.
Also really well implemented street pass/friends stuff. "Linking" up with friends to get their abilities early on can again make things too easy though, so I recommend going without to begin with. And can also send nightmare fuel DLC bosses to each other via the "Norende" street pass mechanic.
Really, I could go on, I just love it all round.
Oh and dem sexy outfits.
