OP here: I nicknamed mine Bulkarona, 'cause I have a bulky build on it and it just eats up attacks. Especially Earthquake, people seem to forget that bug resists it.

Also, I'm shit at nicknaming but I still love it.

My build is a Bold Bulky Volcarona, and since it's female and for an old opening for a series that uses that word, I nicknamed her Mikami Reiko

I watched the series again and read the whole manga just this year just for nostalgia's sake. I was laughing all the time and the whole Manga is fairly well written to be honest.

How are you running your Volcarona? Mikami is 232 Def, 152 HP, and 124 Speed, it hits pretty nice numbers at lvl 50.

I've been rewatching/reading some older manga/anime (Great Teacher Onizuka, Nanaka 6/17), I should throw Ghost Sweeper on the list.

Mine is 232 Def as well, but I have 252 HP and the remaining 24 in SpAtk. I find that I often set up two Quiver Dances, so I don't need the speed buff.
Hold item Leftovers/Shell Bell (I personally use the item clause. If something else would use Leftovers, I give it a Shell bell).

I use either Charti or Lum Berry, tried Heat Wave instead of Fiery Dance because doubles.
But the goddamn thing misses more often than not, even things like Hydro Pump are more reliable so I dropped it by Fiery Dance as well.

The Speed buff is just to Outspeed those damn things over the base 130 by 1 point.
A lot of things hit 201 or 203 of Speed, after one QD, Mikami hits 204 Speed, the funny part is that bonus points was just the las 4 single EV's.

Due to the fact that I play singles, I don't really fear a turn of damage. If I ever play doubles, I'll take that into account!

Also, Charti "or" Lum berry? They do completely different tasks, how do you decide which to use?

That's a good question actually. I often go by Charti anyway, taking less than 35% damage by a Rock Slide is neat.

I use Lum Berry just when... well, I get a bad feeling about the Battle Spot/Maision and their Prankster shenanigans. But primary option is Charti.

It's plausible, yes. But it's difficult to pull it off at full extent. Volcarona can just go as a Special Attacker and it'll only take full advantage with Heat Wave.

This said, I don't have too much experience in doubles, I just started in that format in this Gen. But dedicated spread attackers would love Weakness Policy.

If I remember well, I had my ass handed and teared appart by a Rock Polish WP Rhyperior. Those goddamn Earthquakes and Rock Slides man...
