I dunno, R/S sequels/remakes are looking less and less likely to me for these reasons:
The Pokedex
R/S and D/P had largely incomplete pokedexes, which were well complemented by FR/LG and HG/SS.
B/W also had an incomplete pokedex, but most of that was taken care of by existing in the same handheld as 4th Gen, as well as Dream World.
X/Y had a huge pokedex - only a few pokemon were uncatchable, and of those, most were legendaries/starters and many others were available in the friend safari. The missing pokemon can easily be filled in by Z or X2/Y2, and/or events.
Another issue is that there are far more Unova pokemon missing from X/Y than there are from Hoenn - even Sinnoh had more missing pokemon than Hoenn.
So unless they decide to merely use R/S sequels/remakes to showcase a new set of Megas, I don't see it happening. At least not this Gen.
