>>18638853Not really, no. We already had access to Diancie/Lati@site for a few days via powersaves device and they were completely untradeable via wi-fi. We can assume that Volcanion and Hoopa will be under the same treatment. Unless your buddy plans to travel the world doing local, non-wifi trades to everyone that wants one, it won't do any good other than letting him access them.
What he COULD do that would be useful is to actually get us base stats/abilities/signature move details for the event mons as I don't think we ever got definitive stats on Volcanion and Hoopa, or found out if they have signature abilities.
Also it might be interesting if he's able to poke around in the code and see if Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde have a second ability available, or any available moves not in their level-up tables. Considering they're all shiny-locked but have similar color styles as shinies some have theorized that they may have a shiny event in the future, and sometimes that means special abilities or moves that aren't normally available.
Unfortunately, your buddy is kind of late to the party, so most of what we can find out from this stuff is already known. Even if he can find a way to distribute event mons, it'd be social suicide to use them online because everyone will know it was hacked in.
