stop asking these questions, someone coming and telling you they're gay in game acknowledges sexuality, they would have to explain what that means so people understand that they are gay, this acknowledges sexual attraction.
then what? you've already taken things to a sexual context in a game meant for everyone, including young kids all for the sake of shoving 'GAY' in our faces.
this is WHY there will be 'no gay characters' in pokemon, there can be characters who just so happen to BE gay, but they don't feel it is important to bring up in casual conversation.
