I think this one has been a bit drawn out. Perhaps next time it would be more prudent to enforce hard deadlines, and make rounds shorter, even from the start. I would do 5 days for Round 1&2, and 4 days after that. For no-shows, I'd enforce one no-show and you're out, to prevent them lingering for another round. No point in dragging dead weight into the next round.
Though hindsight is 20/20 and I think Callum is doing a great job with the information he has.

How good is M-Agrron? Is he worth using as a Mega compared to the other Steel type Megas like Scizor (who's great without it) Lucario (who's OP as fuck with it) and Mawile (who needs it to even be viable)

with correct investment he's an incredible tank, able to take on the likes of garchomp one on one and come out on top (with good EV investment, only banded chomp can make the 2hko while you can one shot with ice punch).
thunder wave also helps the rest of the team a lot.
the only downside to m-aggron is that regular aggron is shit. until you mega evolve it, you can't use him as a defensive switch. this means you have to lead with him which can be bad etc

Iron head, EQ, Ice Punch + coverage. I used t-wave for the last slot, which is excellent because you force a lot of switches, you prompt a switch and paralyse the other guy for his trouble.
with the given spread, aggron:
survives adamant, banded darmanitan's flare blitz and OHKO's 100% of the time with EQ
survives max attack m-lucario's CC and KO's 65% of the time with EQ
adamant garchomp EQ is a 3HKO at best
12 speed EVs let you creep azumarill (this set flat out beats every variant of azumarill, who can only beat you with prior damage) and kick its ass whether it's belly-drummed or not.
iron-head + twave makes pseudo para flinch.
remember, getting him mega evolved is the hard part, which means you literally have to lead with him or revenge with him. regular aggron is so bad holy shit.

I'd have been better off relying on cloyster flinch hax to beat Rotom.
Not happy with that outcome one bit, having to rely on an 80% accuracy move for a slight glimmer of hope isn't good.

At the point I could begin using it, volt switch abuse and Twave active on it was just going to have it run out of PP while you switch.
It was all on Mamoswine from the beginning anyways, I knew rotom-H was basically 90% an answer to my team. Like I said, I would be more likely to win 41% flinchaxing it with cloyster for a 2HKO
Burn shuts down everything and I can't switch Mamo in because of it, everything else gets killed by it and the only feasible answer my type/team has is to either Lovely Kiss it (RNG) or for Will-o-Miss to stay true to it's name and give me enough breathing room to stone edge 2HKO or 1HKO /w crit it.
I don't see why destiny bond would have helped me any further, especially after paralysis there was no use, volt switch is insanely hard to deal with in 3s esp. as Ice too, the only point I figured i'd bested you other than before the ice shard mishap in the first game was when you had Magenzone locked in, I was sure you'd go to either Rotom-H or Heliolisk and had to choose who I'd use as a response

I used the conventional ingame method of IV determination, and speed checked out fine, i'd be sure because getting a moody female snorunt was the worst thing.

But my Froslass is awkward to figure out, it has a speed of 207, but that is because it had to be trained to level 59 to gain DBond.

The problem with cloyster though is that because you aren't sashed and most of my team is special attackers,

Mhmm, Cloyster was originally sashed, but I had more use sashing froslass, of course in -this- battle it didn't help as much, but it traded for something in every other battle since, and the gullible folks over at battle spot.
I'd like to assume it's a level 50 thing, I don't think I mistrained/bred my Froslass at all.
I guess i'll have more use for some team members next season, Jynx didn't really get much use and stole Weavile's spot, with the amount of threats Ice has this gen and great coverage i'd no doubt run into I didn't feel he'd be able to kickstart a swords dance set, but having him for knock off alone would have probably helped.
It's a shame, because I did extensive research on your team this time around and theorycrafted my plays so I minimized mistakes, then fell to one particularly silly turn and a fatal miss, I guess that's the price to pay in Pokemon though.
I didn't even use Avalugg I don't believe, but getting Elec/Ghost/Elec doesn't exactly warrant half of my team's coverage options for use, ha

Electivire is pretty hectic, I could switch to froslass if cross chop was coming, otherwise Mamoswine can take a hit and 1HKO back.
But it's really just Rotom-F, like fire/elec coverage is extremely potent against Ice, even if Lapras stayed in for sp.def (which it wouldn't under any circumstance as it doesn't do much else) then it just takes the hits, rather than doing anything against them, and volt switch still trumps it.
But yeah, fighting the same type is as tedious as it is frustrating, it's annoying to have to dedicate 2-3 slots for pure coverage on your biggest threats only to never see them past the first round, of course I'd rather not face fighting/steel than face them prepared at all, but falling short to neutral match-ups because you had to sack a pokemon or two early on in the team build process is a pain, but part of the mono-type process I guess..
GGs though, I'll just have to swap a couple picks and maybe hold items around next time
and matchups depending have a well functioning team But ice has a very limited pool as it is.

Jynx was the worst choice as i've figured out, all it did was provide steel coverage when in reality Rotom-F could survive dreaded Bullet/Mach punches and get burns off before, I had a nice little synergy with Froslass and Rotom volt switching into her to minmax the benefit from switching her in on fighting types.
I wish I had access to a pain-split Rotom-F though, it seems his most useful set, uit'd lack substitute in favour of keeping WoW and blizzard/volt switch dual coverage.
Definitely the spot that caused me the most trouble, and definitely the one that forced me to make a hasty last minute decision. Cloyster was out at a point also, as setting up shell smash in 3's is a hit or miss opportunity, he packs a wallop and some nice coverage though.
I wonder if mixed M-Abomasnow is the way to go, he shined versus your Heliolisk as he resisted most things despite the life orb boost, and the coverage is nice, but his speed really stops him from using stuff like Giga Drain even to top himself up, maybe substitute would work, though i'd be dropping a stab or earthquake in favour.

I think in 3's he's a must, volt switch is so strong in that format it's ridiculous, maybe having my own would have contended with you quite well, and certainly changed things given 2/3 fights for me were Elec. Ice definitely lacks one of those pokemon that have strong bulk and offensive presence, I think Rotom should be in night every team it can be legal to use in Monotype 3's.

Froslass good use lefties over sash, i'd just have to play DBond a lot more carefully and not rely on it having to trade with big threats over eliminating them myself (plus smart players WITH big threats aren't going to be rused by a sashed froslass at 1hp)
I did try this, basically transfer Avalugg's lefties to Froslass and Froslass' sash to Cloyster, then give Avalugg a Rocky Helmet and rely soley on a safe switch in with recover to take hits.
I tried W.Herb on Cloyster, but yeah he really can't go near Special Attackers at all so the sash is vital.

And it's only pure luck if your special attacker is a good match to send in against the burner.

On burn; yeah, I have a Lapras boxed as a fire type sponge but given the culprit to burn was Rotom, Volt Switch was perhaps a little too risky, though it did have heal bell I went against it as Lapras didn't bring much else.
Had I chose Rotom-F over Jynx, my team would have had a powerful dual stab burning sponge to either volt switch into Froslass to take fighting type attacks for a free turn, or rampage with blizzard, falling back on a chestorest if needed.
Jynx just didn't do enough, perhaps she would have if I was put against Steel/Fighting, but that didn't happen, so she didn't get the chance to sleep hax and focus blast/psyshock everything to death.

talonflame is good because it fills the same role that Arcanine's Extremespeed does. A powerful cleaning up priority move. In other words, it's about 20% as useful as Arcanine. It has a very pigeonholed role that it fills, but ignorant people like you (who are also AWFUL at Pokemon if you can't stop a CLEAN-UP poke LOL) see that it gets priority and sperg out OP OP OP OP it's too STRONK i can't handle it!

Not everyone who becomes a type rep is necessarily wanting to be a Gym Leader. So, for example, even if Fire type is the absolute strongest type, but the Fire type rep doesn't want to be a Leader, we end up without a Fire Gym, and the next type down the list gets a Gym.
So we won't always end up with the 8 strongest types, but we WILL always end up with the 8 strongest trainers of their own type.
And that's ok. This is, afterall, primarily a mono-type tournament for the sake of having a fun mono-type tournament. I don't think we should, say... sub in the next best Fire trainer for the sake of having a Fire Gym.
But consider the difference this implies. For example, in season 1, our Fire rep was a very strong trainer, secured a very high spot in the top 8, but in the end dropped out and didn't become a Gym Leader, being replaced by the next rep down on the list. Does this make the Gym Challenge weaker as a whole? Granted, each trainer who secures a type rep spot is a very strong trainer indeed. But not all types are created equal, and replacing a top tier type with one that might not be as challenging shouldn't be brushed over without a bit of discussion.
Do you guys think this is a non-issue, or do you think missing out on top tier type Gyms is something that should be looked at further?
I don't want to be too presumptuous at all, but imagine if 5 of a previous season's Gym Leaders secured type rep again. And the Gym Challenge misses out on 5 of the top Gym types because they prefer not to be Gym Leader again. But perhaps this is actually healthier for the Gym Challenge, to cycle in fresh new types into the Gym Challenge that challengers did not get to face last time?

I think we hit a great sweet spot with the difficulty of last season's Gym Challenge. Seven people were able to make it through all 8 Gyms and become Champ. We weren't a breeze with everyone blowing through us and becoming Champ, and we weren't an impassable wall, halting all challengers and all fun. This, the difficulty level of the challenge, was a great concern of mine and the other leaders when shaping season 1's Gym Challenge. I'm glad our ideas, the way we formed the challenge, the rules we put in place, like no switching Pokes, the restrictions on broken Pokes and legends, and later the 3-strike-you're-out rule (and of course our own individual strengths as trainers and synergy amongst the Gyms) allowed us to hit that sweet spot of difficulty. I hope future Gym Leaders put as much consideration into maintaining that sweet spot of difficulty for the challenge.
