Pokémon design trivia thread?

I'll start with Gothitelle. Her legs are actually very stubby and short, while her torso is gigantic. You can see it with in the Pokémon X/Y Pokédex.

This for real? Don't have the ability to check right now. If this in fact the case, then I'm all for it - more accurately human-proportioned 'mons are weird as hell, so having a comically lengthy torso and stubby little legs makes me more accepting of Gothitelle.

Also:

Latias and Blaziken were supposed to be the same pokémon. It looked like Latias' upper body with Blaziken's legs.

Shellos and Gastrodon were supposed to be on the third gen as a single forme pokémon, and by the fifth, he was supposed to have gotten at least one new forme (light blue/purple with white details).

Girafarig was supposed to look more like Catdog.

no they dont. they share the same designs. they base all their character work from the official stuff done by gamefreak. in fact people from game freak themselves work with the anime people sometimes. pic related, this is from the anime. how different is from what you see on pokedex 3d pro?

Sugimori himself gives the animators design sheets on how to animate Pokemon. The anime itself isn't canon, but in terms of Pokemon anatomy it's fairly accurate because that stuff comes from the designers themselves.

That's why catching a legendary doesn't throw the world out of balance, and why team rocket no longer exists.
What you are saying is that the spider-man comic books have the same canon as the 2000 movies.
Maybe continuity would have been a better word

Imagine if Torchic had these tails it was originally designed with, grew them a little longer and laid down as a Combusken, and then they turned into the blonde mane Blaziken has.
Would the overall design be better or worse in your opinion?
