I've tried stall a few times, but I generally find myself using a more bulky offense / balanced team style.

I like it because it feels safe. It's well equipped to handle a wide range of other teamstyles, and I like having a backup or contingency to keep my team healthy through the match.

I know that a well-built hyper offense team is good in high level play, but it just feels so fragile. One turn can cause unfixable damage and possibly cost you the game. It's high stakes, I guess.

HO is popular when laddering because it's fast. People want to win, and they want to win quickly. This is why people think stall is annoying; instead of sweeping someone and having a match end in less than ten turns, they have to waste five minutes of their time picking apart a stall team.

... except it's not a waste of time. HO = instant gratification, but the satisfaction you feel when you finally break a stall team is immense. If people stopped being fucking retards and realized that winning and being on top of the ladder isn't everything, and instead focused on having more fun we wouldn't have this "Smogon is shit" syndrome in the first place.

Fucking bias, man.

Nothing has me hate stall more than two Pokémon, Poison Heal Gliscor and Umbreon. I know sometimes it's a necessary evil to guarantee you the win but when people purposefully run it or start doing it for no reason, I want to go through my screen and beat the life out of them.

What you do is fine, I don't mind that. I just saying people that do it on purpose or for no reason are the annoying ones. Gliscor doesn't stall until all potential special attackers are generally taken care of beforehand

What's not to understand, it's the fun of playing a game which revolves around offense and you're running a playstyle which dares the opponent to KO you.

I use a little stall on my team for a few reasons. Vaporeon is my bromon and does tox stall really well so theres that. Plus I do enjoy how anal pained bad players get against it. I had two different guys rage quit while spamming in all caps yesterday because they couldn't get around it.

People use time stall to "punish" defensive players, but in reality they're stalling too, and being huge assholes.

No, I won't quit early. You want a cheap win against my team? Better keep up your antics for a whole hour then, buddy.

The only stall I use in competitive as for now is my Chansey. Has saved me a lot of times (but she has two completely offensive moves, so I don't know if that makes her still a complete stall).

I use Seismic Toss and Counter. My Chansey is slow as hell so when I face physical attackers I just return the damage to them. If not, Seismic Toss is the option. I run with Toxic and Softboiled too because I breed with only 6th gen mons.

You know, stall versus stall is terrible for everyone. That's setting a pretty bad example. Why not post some replays that feature some more exciting stall/semistall matches? In 3vs3, even stall matches usually aren't too long. Here's some good ones I have:

Porygon2 sweeps Greninja, Infernape, and Staraptor
(Never thought I'd be able to beat this guy! Mixed Infernape normally destroys my stall team.)
UUFG WWWW WWW6 F2L2

Diggersby, Blissey, and Furfrou defeat Mega Mawile, Virizion, and Slowbro
(Japanese players are obsessed with Rocky Helmet Slowbro.)
SZKW WWWW WWW6 F2LE

Furfrou, Porygon2 and Bouffalant defeat Arcanine, Slowbro, and Tyranitar
(I got a crit with P2 on Arcanine that probably made a big difference, to be fair)

Blissey, Furfrou, and Pyroar defeat Azumarill, Mega Scizor and Latios
(If he used Timid Latios instead of Modest, he would have won! Gotta go fast.)

I like to play stall sometimes, just because it's hard to have the ultimate in offense to constantly faint the opponent's team, turn after turn. When you bust out a wall, suddenly their rampage stops and you can cripple them and set up for the offensive. Slows the match down a bit.

Without stall, battles became a game of who can set up their sweeper first wins. Once you get a sweeper going, it's nearly impossible to stop it. There's no variety or upsets. Stalling can stop a sweeper in its tracks if played correctly. And that's the best feeling in the world.
