Welp, I've taken a small break from shiny hinting in X to nuzlocke in Y, and wouldn't you know it, my shiny finding skills carried over in that game. Either that, or I'm just REALLY lucky in that route right after that city with the Tower of Mastery. I've found all my shinies in Gen 6 on that route, which is three shinies in total , although I wasn't able to catch one of them.

I traded in a bunch of old stuff I hadnt played for ages so the price wasnt a bother to me, but I would say it is over priced for the length if you are only going to play it for a short time.
Still though, graphics are great (got it on PS3), the story is still awesome as is the voice acting. Keifer Sutherland makes a great snake, although I do miss Hayter, Sutherland is fine for me.
If you are into replaying and taking different approaches, messing around in a small sandbox, buy it.
If not maybe just rent it, you'll have finished all the missions in a few short hours.
I did the story mission in 77 minutes, not knowing the controls, and only set off the alert mode once.
But thats not a bad thing, I was playing it stealthy as hell and the controls just seem to work perfectly.

Second one also lists that it remembers being hatched by my name, but also remembers being traded to my name, because the game sees two different trainer IDs.
The third one lists the same things as the second one, as expected, because the hatcher is not the same as the current owner.
So as far as I can see, there's no difference between a "shinified" Pokemon and a traded Shiny.
