I played every single gen as soon as they were released but for some reason gen 3 is one of the most memorable for me. I'm pretty sure gen 2 was the only one that I played more than 3.

Gen 3 is the worst gen. That's why I don't get that people want it to be remade. I don't want to step a foot into Hoenn ever, EVER again. And I don't want anyone else to either. For their benefit, not mine. Terrible, terrible region. Ugh.

As someone who is currently replaying Sapphire, I don't see the reason for the hate. The experience so far has been enjoyable, the gym leaders are forgettable, but outside of that its just been fun. Even the whole Trumpets joke is grossly exaggerated to an extent.

I think Pokemon is going to yearly squeals (Nintendo pretty much have to milk their cash cow thanks to the WiiU flopping) but that said I expect us to get a Z or X2/Y2 type game this year so 2015 for Hoenn remakes sounds about right.

That's kind of the trouble though. Everything about gen 3 is forgettable. Its the only gen except gen 4 where I can't even name every pokemon/gym leader/elite four member.

Yea, but platinum is like one of the best games ever, its on my top 3 together with BW2 and Emerald.
And I dont get why people hate gen 3 so much, atleast not Emerald, it has such a good region and would be so much more enjoyable with the physical/special split.

Both of you are wrong, Gen V was the worst. Their first games were even more lackluster shitfests than R/S and D/P, and it spawned a generation of euphoric fedora-wearers who think story is the most important in Pokemon and N was the best character.

Their 3rd versions fixed everything and made them goat tier.

Also unlocking the Regis is ''that kid'' tier and memorable every time. Catch rates were pretty hard for them too

Aslong as they add more shit in the water areas they would be fine, as it is the water to interesting shit ratio is kinda fucked, since the underwater parts are only good for heart scales and not much else.

It's a reference to poke-UK probably as that is in XY (the sea cave and the islands there are based on the Channel Islands geographically) but it is not explicitly stated that it is another region or named as such in the game.
