Where do the Mega stones originate/where were they made?

And

If they were made thousands of years ago then why is there a Mewtwo mega stone?

I say all stones except Mewtwos are natural from Kalos region. Mewtwos stones were made by science to surpass Mewtwo's limits by copying Kalos' stones

Maybe, like, the stones have always existed since the meteor crash. Maybe the Pokemon evolve to match the stone, and not the other way around. You ever think of that?

Or maybe there is an event later in the canon where a meteor is sent back in time to prevent the planet's destruction, which is how mega stones appear retrospectively.

It would mean that X and Y are a thousand years later than Red and Blue.

Mewtwo fled to Kalos after the events of Red/Blue or HG/SS. A war broke out and Mewtwo fought in it, or sent clone to fight in it. the clone died and became a stone.

This would also mean that they are a thousand years later than R/S/E. So remakes would be almost impossible to make then, sequels will be likelier.
