It IS odd! They ALL should've gotten a second Mega. Mewtwo makes sense since it's a one-off Legendary, but singling out one of the starters is bizarre (which they also did with Blaziken in a way)
At the end of the day I don't care that much, it's just a shame that Charizard got pandered to while Venusaur and Blastoise (still beloved mons of the first generation) were left in the dust.
