>>18688222>Dark VoidDV Smeargle is in maybe 5% of the teams that make top cut, so it really isn't much of an issue (you still have to be prepared for it, of course). Smeargle + Mega Mom seems to be more common as a lead among Japanese players.
>GarchompGarchomp just ranks so highly in all formats because you can pretty much throw it on any team without much thinking, and it always has some role it can fill to round out your coverage or just hit targets hard. None different than what people are using it for on Smogon OU.
The variance is also in how cookie cutters can be partnered with less common stuff that fills unique support roles.
>>18688319I watched Cybertron's video, and it wasn't really convincing. Plus, I don't need people to tell me that Verlis is a fag. He is a fag, as are Smogon staffers. Verlis just happens to be right that Smogon is shit, but he is unable to make a convincing argument for it. Just keep him out of the discussion.
The sets he makes are funny to use if you can actually pull them off, but not really anything you can use reliably. He also completely ignores how different formats have different threats, and how some Pokémon aren't even legal in VGC. (yet he calls himself a VGC player, when he does a hodgepodge of singles/doubles stuff)
He also calls everything OP, which makes it a meaningless term. Simple Numel and Dunsparce are OP in his mind, and I bet Specs Weedle is in some way overpowered too. Yet people take that OP stuff seriously and call him out on it.
