Johto's pokemon are weak as shit

Kanto's pokemon aren't much better

Mt. Silver had the highest level wild pokemon. He went there to train and has been grinding ever since.

Alternatively, that's the only place with enough food to keep his fucking snorlax well fed.

Sometime after setting off for mew he found out about the other 600 pokemon and probably gave up on trying to catch them all.

Maybe he was waiting for Mew at mt.silver. I think that all he had left was battling so he went there to wait for really strong trainers, trainers who can give him battles like only Blue could.

Alternatively, as >>18677438 and >>18677441 mentioned, Mt. Silver has the highest leveled Wild Pokemon. So he was probably there continually training his Pokemon. I'm sure once he got tired or bored he'd just camp out at the nearby Pokemon Centre then return.

He wasn't on that mountain for 3 years straight, he was probably off exploring the world (explains why he was at the PWT in Unova) then after a while he decided to start training on MT. Silver not that long before Gold arrived and proceeded to wreck his shit.

That last Rocket Grunt you battle on the Nugget Bridge in HG/SS turns up in Icirrus city in B/W, having settled down and started a family since his return to Unova. And we know that BW2 happens two years after that.

Doesn't change the fact that he's probably been exploring for three years between becoming Champion and battling Gold, though.

Red is a pacifist. He only did the gym challenge because his friend was, too. Red's battle with blue was his final against another trainer. He dedicated the rest of his career to dexing kanto's mons, and then found a remote place to chill.

There is only derision for those who make Red out to be the best trainer ever when he has such a weak team, and think Gen 1 is the best Gen when it definitely wasn't.

Red is a cool character though, and Gen 1 was fun.

Aren't they different continuities? For one, by the game's canon, Red has all the starters, while Blue has none (but instead has powerful FWG Pokemon). In Origins, aka the Charizard Show, he has Charizard while Blue has Blastoise.

I think that was intentional to keep it ambiguous as to what Red and Blue/Green's canonical starters would have been, especially because it would be safe to assume Red actually had caught "all" Pokémon in the game continuity.

Now what would have been amazing at the time is if FRLG and HGSS had a Memory Link feature akin to the one in Gen 5. While the variables would have been pretty ridiculous, it could have generated a team based solely on the starter chosen by the linked FRLG character and giving Blue one compatible.

He was back, when not every single npc trainer was hanging around with legendaries in their team.
I'm not even a genwunner, but this shit of giving legendaries to npcs (which started with gen III and reached its full retard potential with gen V) seriously pisses me off.
