I agree, OP. Emma/Looker quest was a lot of fun, and a fairly decent story. Xerosic needs to just die, though.

My only problem is how "quickly" Xerosic went with a change of heart taking on account what he just did to us on the main story. Maybe he had some really hidden depts but for most of it... well, doesn't matter. Still had feels with the side quest.

Emma a qt. I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed this sidequest more than the main story itself, which sort of tells you about the main story: just full of wasted potential.

If only they had put enough effort into developing the main characters like they did with Emma. Even though this is basically what makes up for the postgame, I did enjoy going through this quest and I even grew attached to both Emma and Looker. It's also pretty sad how it's heavily implied if not confirmed that Looker's partner, his Croagunk had died.

Did you ever read his notes? Though he treats her as a mere test subject at first, you can see that he does start caring about her, and makes sure not to risk her long-term health in the experiments. While Emma is conscious, she also experiences Xerosic as a very friendly man who fills a bit of a father role for her.

He put out an ad for (presumably) young people, if not girls exclusively, to apply for a research subject. Then he strapped her in a skin-tight mind control suit. Then he trained her subconscious to be the ultimate Pokemon theif.

I'd say even if he never touched her, he's still a dirtbag and deserves whatever punishment Interpol is able to slap on him.

To say nothing of attempted genocide, only days prior.

Of course he's a dirtbag—that's why he was arrested in the end. Through his interactions with Emma, he however revealed a human side of his, which is what Looker acknowledged.

Considering how this is Pokémon, the mere fact that a character is multifaceted and not just a generic villain/hero/friend is already revolutionary.
