I have a full region made in my mind with gym leaders, elite four, champion, and an evil team. I've even made full teams for them on pokemon-showdown. You have no idea how much thought I've put into my Pokemon ocs.

This is Jess. You get her as your rival regardless of what gender you choose. She uses a team of Pokemon that are generally considered to be cute or girly but is also more balanced than the teams Chris and heather carry.

Always thought that Volkner needed a little brother like flint, but who was kind of just neglected due to his obsession and then later lack of obsession with everything tech about his city and his rivalry with flint.
Plus i usually always raise electric types regardless in most games, as since joltik and shinx, i always have one in my party and dont evolve my bros.

This is Linda. She's the first gym leader you face. Her team is made up of water types. Her gym is fairly easy to navigate and she's in the back room which you must face to trainer to get to. The back room has a glass ceiling and a pool which she's standing next to when you go the challenge her. She'll claim she just finished having a lovely swim with her her water type pokemon.

the third gym is ran by caitlyn. Despite living on a tropical island near a inactive volcano crawling with fire pokemon, she thought it would be a great idea to have a ice gym! Additionally she cannot stand the heat and her gym is like a giant walk-in freezer. She doesn't wear all that much despite this. She is the youngest of the gym leaders.

I could see my trainer as starting off young, full of energy and with so many things they want to accomplish before finally settling down and relaxing somewhere in the Pokemon world. He'd probably take up breeding to pass the time and just appreciate what's going on.

I also bet he'd be the guy that looks after the young trainers in the area and gives them pointers on how to catch tough Pokemon. I can't imagine that being a job only old men do.

I get hung up on names in writing all the time, and I usually get hung up on things like "that's the name of another character in another series." I actually decided to go back and generate a new name after remembering that Percy was the worst Weasley brother and that horrible Percy Jackson franchise.

Generally, whenever I come up with names now for things I'm working on, I just make them up phonetically. Whatever sounds right to the ear in comparison to the character. This way I don't have to fret over the name reminding me of fictional (or real) people.

My friends say I have a knack for coming up with fictional names this way, but I still sometimes feel like they're a bit too weird at times, hence why I use generators for things like this.

I mean, you wouldn't have "Jeff" hanging around with hobbits, but you also wouldn't have Henridicles be an ordinary teenager in middle America.

I like the names to be fictionally mundane and ordinary. Enough for an outside party to know they're unusual by our standards, but fitting in the scheme of things.

Also, part of the reason I like unusual names is because I often got critiques from peers and teachers that wondered if I named a character a certain way to make a symbolic reference to another character. Remove the symbolic name and people can't make the character relatable to other characters with the same name, the name only represents them.

But maybe I hate the over-reliance that literary criticism seems to have on patterns and symbols.

Nope. I love English and writing, but I can't stand how far up their own ass professors and English major students can be. We invited an author to our university a few years ago to talk about his book, and one of our "most esteemed" professors actually got into an argument over the message that the author was trying to convey through the work. The two English classes I had to take for my degree were nightmares, and I'm glad to be out. If anything, the experience taught me to be a bit more conscious about the things I put into my work and to lessen the ability to draw unwarranted conclusions from it. Not that I really care if people want to think off the wall things about my work, but I don't really want them to put words in my mouth over what I "clearly said". It's one thing to have what amounts to a fanon conclusion, but another to claim that your fanon is canon, and as bullshit as fandoms get about this shit, English professors are just about as bad in many cases.

Anyways, decided to take another stab at making a trainer with the other program.

Yeah, I have a couple of English major friends and they're just in the grin and bear it phase. They've found a couple of good teachers in the department, and I had one awesome teacher for my essay writing class with a sweet ass, but most of them seem to teach niche subjects, so the ones to cover the more general classes are the ones no one wants to take.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you as a Bio major. I'm sick of the classes teaching me nothing new and giving me busy work for the sake of pretending I'm learning something. I mean, the fact that I'm in senior level classes and we're still spending a week or so going over evolution and alleles is downright insulting. And don't get me started on the physics classes we have to take. I'm so ready to be done with school and to stop amassing debt.

Thing is, Umbreon is one of the tallest Eeveelutions so I thought this was at least close, but yeah... the proportions and sizes are pretty fucked.

That was my problem with it. needs either space or layer manipulation, because half of them just balls up any customization you make to your trainer. Besides which, they look awkwardly placed almost anywhere you put them.

Just started a Pokemon table top game with some friends. This was handy to crank out some base character designs.

Eventual Class: Ranger - Rider, Signer
Basil Yearling comes from Johto. She grew up on a small research facility in the Ilex Forest with her botanist, researcher parents and their assistants. Her parents were engrossed with their work so Basil spent most of her youth playing with the local fauna or the assistants' son Lyall. She was injured by a rouge Rapidash when she was a child and still harbors psychological scars from the incident, along with a slight fear of fire type pokemon. She is quiet, passive, and friendly but tends to be socially awkward with people do to her isolated upbringing. While she can be forgetful, Basil's knowledge of plants and berries knows no equal. She was given a Cyndaquil as a starter named Leirn to help her get over her phobia.
