>>18703176Yeah I'm here. I put in Chesnaught to deal with Mega Gyarados, who could set up on Kabutops, and Mega Tyranitar (and most other Tyranitar sets) because he can take away rain. Like if Tyranitar comes in, and I send in Politoed, if he mega evolves his sand gets reset (IIRC) and he can get a free Dragon Dance off, which is not good. Defensive Politoed can take one +1 Stone Edge and use Rain Dance to let my swift swimmers take him out, but not if he's taken a bit of prior damage, so sending in Chesnaught is safer. Chesnaught also takes care of Ferrothorn who is a huge PITA for both of my swimmers. It also "walls" Mega Venusaur, but can't do a lot back except PP stall it. Aegislash can dick with Kabutops with King's Shield mind games, so I send in Chesnaught because fuck that.
Rain also nullifies his Fire weakness, so he can do cool stuff like take on Charizard-X. The set I use is Leech Seed/Substitute/Spiky Shield/Hammer Arm. Synthesis doesn't work well in rain and Chesnaught can't really beat any defoggers, so I don't use Spikes either. Subseed also lets him dick with stuff he has no capability to wall, like CB Talonflame; Talonflame comes in as I substitute. Spiky shield, 1/8 gone. Seed it as it breaks sub, 10% recoil from sub and another 1/8 from seed. Spiky shield again, 1/4 gone from shield and seeds again, so Talonflame loses ~60% before I switch out to something else. Also good for stalling out rain, like if I only have three turns of Rain left, I can usually stall those out and then send in Polioted.
