So, I'm trying to make one of my favorite Pokemon more effective in competitive. I seriously doubt that the sets on Smogon are the best possible sets for it, and I'm curious if anyone here has some good gimmicky or not ideas.

My current build is as follows:
Leafeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 236 Spd / 20 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Return
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

I'm seriously hoping that better sets exist.

chlorophyll physical sweeper maybe? also with such terribad hp and sp def, i don't see it tanking much in the sp def dept, especially with how strong fire moves hit lol.

Yup, the poor little grass cat is cursed with a guaranteed OHKO from any special fire attack, forcing a switch out every time.

Charizard Y, with better speed and a powerful Solar Beam, is better suited to sweeping under the sun.

I think Leafeon being decent has more to do with who's working with it, and not so much what it can do.
Pairing it up with anything with Flash Fire lets you play a few mind games.

I used to use an adamant chlorophyll leafeon with swords dance, synthesis, x scissor and leaf blade. I started out with a ninetales to start with a drought, the combo was actually pretty fun. It worked sort of decently if I managed to use a swords dance just once

Replace Return with Knock Off, and do Chlorophyll instead of Leaf Guard. Substitute could work, but X-scissor lets it hit other grass types which wall it's main stab.
