>>18697604/v/ is largely made up of two groups of people:
1. Old users
These have been around for years, mostly joined during the couple of years that most people agree was the best (lots of shenanigans involving other sites, very internet-savvy users, strong feeling of community, got angry at bad games and people who didn't force themselves to get good). Nowadays they have passed into a state of anger/despair at the current industry, and take their anger out on everyone and everything (as a result, no-one likes them on this site and they don't like anyone else. Apart from /m/. Everyone likes /m/.)
2. Newer users
Tend to get indignant when told they're new, don't stay on the board forever so they don't learn everything about it, often don't lurk for long enough to become good posters, are too attached to recent memes because that's the first thing they saw when they joined. Basically the result of /v/ becoming widely known.
/v/ is the second-most popular board on this site by a long shot, second only to /b/ (if not, it's THE most popular board). It's a victim of it's own success, ironically much like a large number of the game series that they've come to shit on daily.
