That will only happen when GF starts actually giving a shit about Gallade being one ability short in comparison to his parallel evolution. Though I'm probably the worst person around this board in regards to providing Gallade speculations that don't sound like a doomsayer's manifesto.

says 'like egg moves (as in we breed for egg moves) but for abilities (as in breed an ability from a mon in same egg group that can give this compatible mon another ability (through breeding (Pokemon sex)))

Assume ability breeding is possible. Spinarak and nincada are in the same egg group. Also assume spinarak is compatible with compoundeyes, the same way it would be compatible with a certain egg move. Now what you do is breed a certain male/female coupling of 1 spinarak and 1 nincada (with compoundeyes) and get a spinarak with compoundeyes.

So... to start with OP's example, how could that be helpful for Gallade? A physical attacker/special wall in amorphous egg group seems to be on a losing position in such a setup as well.

Fucking this.

I guess they tried to balance it with Gardevoir through making Gallade as shit as possible - all before realising that Gardevoir's then-pitiful typing can be fixed considerably without ruining Gallade in the first place.
