Surely you've found yourself playing some game, and there was some girl there, some side character, that you just kept finding yourself coming back to talk to, each time hoping she'll have more lines after hearing them all so many times, or thinking that maybe, just maybe, she'll admit feelings for you. Almost everyone experiences this to some degree in a game. I've had it happen once or twice. That's where my waifu-fagging stands.
What I don't understand is when people take it to the bats hit level and claim to actually be in relationships with characters. Totally different feelings, I think.
Point is, you can have a "waifu" and not be nuts, but some people do take it way too far.
