But yeah, I agree. Serena getting Mega Lucario would be really stupid, she doesn't even need a Mega Pokemon. She's not a trainer and she doesn't even let Fennekin compete in battles. I'd be surprised if she caught a damn Pokemon in the next 25 episodes.
Ash and Clemont should both be the ones to get a Mega Pokemon. I think Meyer appearing soon means he'll end up battling Ash or Clemont, and he'll be giving Clemont Ampharos. Therefore, Ash and Clemont will both have Mega Pokemon and their final battle at the Lumiose Gym will be fucking fantastic.

I say this because the bond with the trainer has been shown to be the key. Him getting a stone and a new corresponding pokemon and then him quickly activating mega evolution rubs me the wrong way.
If he gets say, Riolu/Lucario and they spend a lot of episodes bonding so that it can mega evolve much later on, I think I'll be able to accept. Or they can just give us Mega Pikachu.

Seeing that Mega Evolution's just a bit of an evolution, I think what will most likely happen is that IF they gave Ash Lucario, he'd let Lucario pick when it would mega evolve for battles.
If that was the case, they'd have to make Lucario have a similar attitude as Ash, which they might try combining that with the game's story.

Charizard's my favorite but the Charizard vs Blaziken fight was the best way for him to go out. No excuses or what ifs. Blaziken won but Ash+Zard gave it their all so Blaziken couldn't battle the next round which contributed to Harrison's loss. Ash+Zard lost fairly but their efforts were validated.
Tobias and Cameron were so full of bullshit that it wasn't satisfying. Making Ash lose and then everyone saying "he could have won if ____" won't be satisfying as well.

Shauna is also great at making ideas/solving puzzles, which is exactly what Serena has shown doing in a few occasions this saga. She even did so in the episode that aired today.
What those Iris autists don't realize is that not everyone in Pokemon is addicted to battling or needs to battle. Shauna battled twice in the whole game and both times she was just having fun instead of looking at it as some kind of challenge she needs to overcome.
