I'm doing an essay for college about Gaussian distribuition and deviations, and decided to use the rates of shiny pokémon in X/Y as subject.
The problem is, I have no samples to work, except mine (which are so low that I can't use Gaussian distribution)

Yes, as far as we know, the Charm should affect eggs too, even in Gen 6.

Now seriously, from the instacheck threads you see that the top number generated is like 4000, so that is the odds of it matching you TSV, with Masuda this is halved because the game do another generation of the number if the first one dont match, I think this is done twice or more so it goes down to 1000~odds.
Now, the shiny charm haven't been proved to be working with MM, so no conclusive evidence can be drawn from this.

tl:dr If you want a shiny, just insta-check it, wasting time on MM dont make it any more legit.

That's the objective of the essay: compare the numbers with and without charm and see if averages/deviations are different.
Sadly, I need at least 30 samples from each group to work it out

So I hatched a Sneasel yesterdy! 740 eggs. Next up is Magneton! And sorry, my list is pretty shitty. I'm at my beach house, and left my list's PSD file at home on my desktop. And here I thought I put it in my dropbox. Now, should I go eviolite Magneton, or Magnezone? I wonder...

Also, still trying to design my Chesnaught Gijinka cosplay. I've thought of adding a prop Honedge since Chesnaught is a fighter/warrior like class Pokémon. Any other ideas, reference pics?

In fact, it could take plenty of time to find someone with the actual match of the egg you want to find.
And, I mean, some of us have a job and shit, so to me it doesnt matter about cheating on that, in the end, you cannot tell if it was MM, instachecked or even just cloned.
I can instacheck and claim I MM for over 9000 eggs and only MM fags care about that.

Im telling this from a competitive/multiplayer standpoint, why waste so many hours when you could've battling with bros?

After a week long sick leave I'm back on the hunt, on box 21 of Togepi, and I've got all day to hatch. Although I never knew how annoying it could be to hatch eggs with lower egg steps.

You should do it! It took me about 4-5 days to get everything besides legends, and I'm sure there are tons of people who can touch trade you them me included.

Just collected another 21 boxes of river crab eggs, haven't been able to hatch any yet, sadly. Hopefully one will be shiny, but it wouldn't surprise me if they all came out orange. Hows the hunts going folks? I am currently SRing for a shiny bulbasaur in X. Started last weekend, but been doing a nuzlocke for the last 2 days. Took a break from the shiny hunting. Here is my progress if anyones interested (no ones interested).

I played the Hoenn games but never really got into them at the time, so went with Sapphire for the challenge (havent got emerald).
Only death so far is Castle, completely screwed up when training and a zubat got him.

After about 1400 eggs and two female failures, I finally hatched my shiny Gallade this morning.

It didn't have Justified (HA) like I wanted, and its 31/31/31/31/7/31, but I'm happy regardless.

Pic related -- my previous first failure. Everything was perfect except for its fucking gender.

Also, how much will my Gallade's low special defense impact it? For example, what base stat should I treat it as instead of 115 if I don't invest in it?

You don't want to outspeed your opponent with the sword and leave yourself open to attack with 50/50 defense, so you will want to aim for the lowest speed ever.

You can still use Shadow Sneak if you need to go fast.

Well Aegislash is a slow Pokemon anyway, it wont matter too much, but the speed should be as low as possible so that you will stay in Sheild Form to as many attacking Pokemon as possible.

I'm hatching a shiny Espurr for my wife. She adores female Meowstic, so I'm trying for a shiny one. But these odds are killing me. The IV pool I'm dealing with is nice, one is pentaperfect and the foreign one has everything but special defense. But the all-important 50/50 gender ratio is hanging over my head like a guillotine, and I'd really love that hidden ability if possible.

Hopefully I can get a good one for my wife, y'know?

It'll be 13 points higher on level 50, it doesn't need training.
Mental note: each 2 IVs translate into 1 stat point at lv.50. 0 or 1 IV will have X speed, 2 or 3 will have X+1, 30 or 31 will have X+15.

Haha, no, I'm not that crazy. I'm probably gonna use EVA foam (think the mats at a gym) surrounding a PVC pipe, It's how I made my Garen sword, and my friend's Katarina blades for our Spin it to Win it cosplay.

I might make the spikes on my spiky shield out of foam too, just long, thin, and dremel'd to look sharps and round. I'll get to work on a sketch...as soon as I fill this box of Magnemite and start the bike simulator!

Got a lot of fond memories of my cats, but most interesting story is-
A long time ago my auntie had a sheep dog called Callie, she was awesomely friendly. Anyway my cousins came to visit and a bunch of older kids (I was about 11, my cousins just younger than me) walked past the house and started shouting shit at us, then started throwing clumps of mud at the house. (unprovoked. Just a group of dickheads).
So we went around back, where my dad and older brother were with the dog. Told them what was going on, and we went out and the boys were running down the street.
We chased them to the park, most of them got away but we caught up to the one guy and dad threw a stick so the dog ran at him. The guy picked up the stick and tried hitting Callie with it. She ripped it out of his hand and snarled like a crazy beast.
My dad (at the time he was a coppa' ) caught up and by this time the boy had turned, tripped and was on the floor with Callie snarling over him.
The kid ended up pissing himself and crying, dad told him to get lost.
Callie wasn't a violent dog, and if he had actually hit her she'd probably have just run off scared, but she went full on bad ass that day.

Yeah Callie was fine, although not long after my cousins kitten Meg jumped on to her from a table, callie panicked and jumped and slipped a disk in her back.
But thankfully that got better after a while.

Have you seen the alternate panels? They originally wrote it that Joker actually sexually assaulted Barbara too, to make it even more intesnse for Gordon when he sees the images.

Did some preliminary calcs with the results I got from here and marilland's shiny discussion thread - will later remove these, data is too much biased

Used all data in this thread except >>18745785 because I hadn't seen it (already noted for later calcs)

>Shiny Charm Sample: 27
> 452.65 eggs average, std.dev. 419.27

> Charm-less Sample: 57
> 558.98 eggs average, std.dev. 816.28

With those deviations, result is inconclusive (most guys in charmless, especially on Marilland, have either 50'ish or 5000'ish eggs).

Preliminar results, however, claim that variance is -0.79, between (+/-)1.96, so the samples could have the same average

tl;dr: Too early to say for sure, but Shiny Charm doesn't seem to affect MM shininess
