>>18752215Nope, gamespy servers are shutting down globally; Nintendo didn't have the forethought and instead hard-programmed in URLs to gamespy servers instead of hosting their own server which redirected to them.
>>18752675Not exactly, there was encryption but we could emulate the games to rip the encryption. Gen6 has different encryption and instead uses TLS encryption.
The TLS MitM exploit Pokecheck will use was pioneer'd by xfr (who is really busy IRL); without him to finish the programming, pokecheck is on hold. It basically will have pokecheck renegotiate the connection to insert itself into communications with your system (to replace the official server). Needless to say, it's pretty complex and only xfr has the power (it's his server) to implement something of that scale.
For battle video fetching, it's pretty easy. with a 3DS's cert you can query AWS's storage and fetch any bvid you want, unencrypted.
>>18752675too bad the TLS vuln has to be patched both client and server side with a firmware update; it's essentially unpatchable.
>>18752771Save editing requires resigning of hashes on a 3DS using the keyscrambler (0x0-0x10), which if you have the capability to do that you can do much more (RAM Hacks, etc). Datel only does this because they can make $$$$$ with simple save edits.
