I think that those Team Rocket roleplayers (are they still here?) started off because of the Team Rocket vs Revolver Ocelot poll. It was basically poll-rigging, but they didn't stop the "Team Rocket member so-and-so, reporting for duty!" after it was all over. They went all the way into 2012 (and possibly beyond, if they still exist). And then there were the writefag threads filled with furry fanfiction and cringe-worthy stories. And of course, "What if Pokémon were real?" roleplayers.
I remember one of the early shitposters, SPRINKLEZ, or whatever he called himself. There was also Germanfag, but he became a brony or something and left. Buizel went to Bui went to ブイ (avatarfagging as Veemon (ブイモン - Buimon)), and then I think he made himself scarce not too long after.
Oh jeez, and that one Professor-something-or-other who described Pokémon mating habits in detail, Jesus Christ.
Also, all those "We're gonna make a ROM hack!" people who always turned out to be idea guys with no experience in ROM hacking or programming. All destined to failure, because what they wanted to create was fucking nuts, even for professionals. Of course the ROM hackers who were there wouldn't help with ideas as big and stupid as those.
