I haven't battled competitively since Gen 4.
/vp/ I want to get back into it but I don't know where to even start out. Is making genned Pokemon through Pokemon Bank or other cheating devices necessary for competitive wi-fi?

Competitive has being going downhill since 4.

And no, breeding has become a lot more simple, and you need Kalos born mons to battle online.

Don't listen to these other guys OP, I won't say that this meta is perfect, but try it out and come to your own decisions. As for breeding, it's easy as hell this gen so gen 6 mons you can breed pretty quickly. Genning is still recommended for stuff that needs moves from early gens though.
