Just started HG an hour ago, I chose Brotodile. Is there a definitive guide for HG? I don't want to go through the game without knowing the best pokemon to catch, right now I don't know if Hoothoot or Pidgey is better. Help please

Don't catch either, once you beat Falkner in Violet City you can catch a Tentaquil on the next route.

jesus christ kid, be resourceful.
serebii, psypokes. compare stats and movepools. know what youre getting into when a new gym comes along. psypokes has a good walkthrough with pokemon by route. use smogon if you have to. makes looking at usefull shit easier.

i also advise against Noctowl, and Ampharos. for the latter, even with Modest, it was just the weakest guy on my team. Only good at barely knocking anyone out.
