The Yawn struck the ghost pokemon, the thing staggering backward a bit before laying one last hit in on whoever was left with a shadow punch.

Further back the heat wave struck several of the remaining elites, the rest opening fire as they escaped through the portal several of them muttering curses under their breath.

They'd managed to escape, but the last wave of attacks hit them as they went, knocking out the already tired Bibarel. Taking a seat on a nearby chunk of land, Mage got to applying medicine to the wounded. Sootopolis was already moving out of alignment with where he was in the Distortion Wold, so it would be a while before he could back Mike up again.

There was a bit of silent confusion and haggling, mostly a wonder of where he came from considering they had wrecked the league.

Eventually though the fact that he was hiding in mist proved to be too much of a tempting target, the two scouts at the top ordering their pokemon to deliver a pair of thunderbolts to electrify the mist.

From the mist zoomed a wave of hovercraft, skimming over the water towards the rocky cliffs of the island. On board alongside Wattson were members of the Garmy, their Garybombers at the ready. The modified rocket launchers were fired, sending Garyfaces scattering among the enemy defense force. The little faces sprouted spindly legs and began crawling towards anyone nearby.

The steep cliff walls of the mountain around the city providing a good barrier against most attacks, which meant it was an uphill climb for the Garyfaces.

The counter attack was near instantaneous as well, with the majority of the defenses still in place and the fact that most of the average grunts had been sitting out the chaos in the center of town meant that when the response came, it was anything but mild, the guns opened up first targeting the nearest hovercraft while snipers targeted the more important people. Among the defensive lines the gas masked soldiers stood ready for the oncoming swarm most opening up with a mixture of weapons and pokemon attacks.

Mike needed to think of an escape plan, and fast. It'd have to be the kind he could pull off with a near-crippled team; the problem was he had no way to reasonably do anything about it. The best he could do at this point would be to dive into the water and hope nothing could hit him.

Two of the hovercraft exploded under the shells of the defense forces, their troops jumping out on top of Fearows. They closed the gap quickly with the enemy, going for the snipers. Half of the first wave of Garyfaces were shot down, the fragile things falling down and breaking apart on the rocks. The rest continued climbing upwards. Wattson sent out his Magnezone, and it attacked alongside its Manectric partner.
