Do you have any rivals?

Currently, there's a guy in one of my facebook groups that I often battle and trade with. He gave me so many great battles that I consider him the closest thing that I have to one

My sister.
We've been together since Gold/Silver.
I ended up buying her a 2ds & X so we could still play together even though she lives in dorm at her college now.

Aw, that's kinda sweet.

I've also taught a friend of mine how to manipulate evs and ivs. She's not really competitive like my rival though

The first is an American I met years ago on Ragnarok Online. Back when Emerald was coming out I tried to get back into Pokemon, and we would play Pokemon Battle all summer. He would routinely wipe the floor with me because I didn't understand a lot of the new mechanics, but he helped me learn a lot. I fought him the other day over XY wifi, unfortunately he still thrashed me but he was using very high OU Pokemon including Mega Lucario. I wish to one day be as good as he is; he taught me that hyper-offensive isn't always the best strategy and now I run defensive/bulky offense. He's moved onto status. His signature Pokemon has always been Medicham.

My other rival is a guy from my university class; if the previous guy is a step above me, I'm a step above this guy. He's anal about natures, skills and EVs but he has no patience for IVs or egg moves, which I find strange. I remember when I finally made the jump to fully bio-engineering my Pokemon manually back in gen 4 and it's not that hard, you just have to bite the bullet. At the same time I still enjoy battling him because he ACTUALLY uses Pokemon he likes instead of just Smogon and he manages to be pretty good. His favourites are Salamence and Swampert.

I've fought my girlfriend a couple of times too but she mainly plays Pokemon for Amie.

He's the only person I know IRL who owns Gen VI and a 3DS. We'll just play with in-game teams, and I'll take it a little easy on him...maybe.

My younger brother. I'm autistic, so i always had a problem in the older games, he'd always take over and take them down. Wasn't until middle school I started getting the hang of things and was able to play on my own, but he started losing interest. That was until XY came out and we both bought 3DS's and the games. I ended up being more about breeding and he was about competetive. He helped me make a team, but it still gets destroyed by his Chatter Chatot. Never do see him much anymore now that he's at college and has a life. Oh well.

We have been battling each other for long now, but since I'm really good he has yet to beat me this gen

I even remembered that we started X(me) and Y (him) at the same time and had battles like if we were in-game rivals.

There are other people I battle often of course, but he is the only one good enough to provide a challenge and make me sweat, even if I always end up winning its only matter of time he surpasses me

But until then, he will still be calling me a cunt
