I'm not even a nostalgiafag. It just makes sense for Mewtwo to be in SSB4 since he's a widely requested character and one of the most noticeable Pokemon. And having two Mega evolutions brings more possibilities to the table.

I would like him to return, yes. In Melee, I played Mewtwo and Donkey Kong. Brawl just wasn't the same without Mewtwo... Lucario's nice, and all, but it's just not the same.
