Base 81 Atk flare blitz is superior to overheat in every single way. The only niche it has is avoiding rocky helmet + iron barb damage on ferrothorn, other than that it's fucking useless and much better reserved for roost or will-o-wisp.

Roost is usually used on obvious switches. Bring it in on something that's obviously gonna switch, heal up on a switch, then you either smack them with BB/FB or U-Turn away

Natural Gift is only useful with Pinap Berry against Rotom-W. Oh wait, no it isn't:

252+ Atk Talonflame Natural Gift (90BP Grass) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 110-130 (36.1 - 42.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Sure seems like a good idea to waste your item slot on a move that takes less than half of Rotom's health.
