I'm talking about concepts not just similarities, Foongus and Amoongus have the same concept as Voltorb and Electrode, they're found in the wild and they look like pokeballs
Also i doesn't make sense: Amoongus doesn't look anything like the ball sprite in the overworld, and before commenting about how Voltorb and Electrode are too big, go back and take a look at how big the "item balls" were in gen 1 when, you know, these Pokemon were first introduced.
Also while Voltorb and Electrode have lots of interesting theories behind, like being created after a scientific asperiment with pokeballs (and if you read the Adventures Manga in the chapter against Lt.Surge you'll see), Foongus and Amoongus are just boring Pokemon that are there just for heck of it
