Let's face it: Zoroark was next in line after Mewtwo and Lucario, and got gypped by the introduction of Mega Evolutions. It made it too easy to put Lucario in and make Mega Lucario his Final Smash. Without their invention, I'm convinced Zoroark would be in Super Smash 4.

No, Zoroark failed to become as popular as Lucario. That's why they stopped pushing it and went back to Lucario.

It could in online battles if you'd be able to first choose Zoroark and then select a skin of any other character.

That would really be the only way though.

Because Zoroark can't use anyone's moves, he can just pretend to be them. He's no Ditto.

Zoroark is and was a terrible pokemon then and now. They tried to manufacture hype for him during Gen V, but it didn't work because he was so shitty no one used him.

The only way Zoroark would have gotten in would be if he was useful enough to actually USE in Gen V outside of single player.

I blame team preview myself.

You're forgetting that this is Smash and not pokemon.

If we're getting a 5th gen rep, it's Genesect hands down. Genwunners most likely saw the Genesect movie with Mewtwo and thus, recognizability. Although its relevancy is nonexistent. But irrevelancy is basically 5th gen from a recognizable standpoint. It's a shame really speaking how some of the best or at least unique pokemon design-wise and competitively come from BW.
