That's not a false statement. But the worth of your shiny is much higher to you because you worked for it and no one can take that away from you. In reality it's just an alternative color palette. That shouldn't piss you off.

mfw the intire point of shinies was to make your friends jelaous, and now having a shiny it's like having a customizable Pokemon, oh you want that Pokemon to look rare and precious? Sure why not, just put him in pokegen and after 2 seconds here's your entire pokedex of shinies with 6IVs (even the unoubtainable ones)

Shiny Pokemon are fine, it's just that all shiny teams kinda irk me. In a way, I kinda feel as though shiny Pokemon exist to give every player individuality, and while that's great, having an all shiny team seems alien to me.

They're meant to be special, they lose that position very quickly if you're running full teams of shiny.

It also makes others question your credibility, they will see you as hacker, regardless if you've bred them yourself.
This point of course becomes pretty much invalid if you're running full team of shiny generation 6 pokemon.

no, I have a blissey that I've had since gen 4
Its brave natured and to be honest I don't like it much.
I recently found a chansey in the friend safari so I have even less reason to keep it now.
Its yours if you want it, everyone just screams "muh pentagon" or "muh hacks" whenever I bring it up in trade threads.

Also I only start showing off my shiny collection to people who start showing their's first.

Having a team of all shinies has a legit purpose in VGC and that is to timer stall. Timer stalling is very much a significant thing there and people will go to all sorts of autistic lengths to add extra time on since you only get 15 minutes.

All of you have these childish preconceived notions about shiny Pokemon. It's just a palette swap. Whether or not it's special - worth being distinguished from other Pokemon - is if you worked for it. But remove that sentiment and it's the same Pokemon.

The best shiny that i got was Noctowl in the the original G/S/C, and hironically when i was going on the route towards the lake of tage for the first time. I loved him so much
Too bad it didn't made it to these days, i can always go gen one, but it would not be the same, it will never be the same.... (dramatic music intensifies)

Switching shinies back and forth to stall the clock with the extra seconds of animation is a thing. VGC is considering banning shiny Pokemon to prevent abuse.
