Nope, it's pretty underrated because of all the steel-types. It doesn't help that their only defense against dark-types is Focus Blast (or Signal Beam).

Snorlax could beat pretty much anything one on one, and Chansey and Tauros were practically mandatory.
The Normal-type has never been as good as in RBY.

normal as a type was never super strong, it just happened to have 3 of the strongest mons in gen 1 and hyper beam was retarded
psychic was overpowered as a type and since then has gotten shittier and shittier

Psychic types need pokemon that are Physically Defensive. They should be given access to Aura Sphere, if they can't learn Dazzling Gleam. They should lose their weakness to Ghost.

Nah, Ghost should be resisted by Fairy and Psychic should pick up a resistance to and an advantage against Fairy-types.

They can also pull a Grass/Electric-type immunity thing on them and make them immune to Confusion or Sleep.

Not only Close Combat. There were no good Fighting-type moves.
Low Kick and Double Kick were weak, Submission inaccurate and suicidal, and Hi Jump Kick was only for Hitmonlee.

Obviously, Ghost gets STAB on ghost, it has two immunities, and the fact that most ghost types are just decent in general (like Aegislash and Gengar) helps.

Who weren't weak to anything (no useable Bug or Ghost moves) and could destroy any other Pokemon with 1 move (Psychic was unresisted except by other Psychic Pokes) and the Special stat was clearly fucked.
