Hoenn is great! If you love surfing for half of a Pokémon game and having boring repetitive landscapes for the other half. Hoenn is literally the worst designed Pokémon world ever. It's like Hoenn was designed by throwing shit at the wall, then realizing they still didn't have a big enough map so they just used water routes for everything else.

Not the same anon but most of the pokemon added in Gen 4 were absolute shit and aside from the snow route and swamps the entire region was pretty samey and bland.
Not to mention how slow it was even after Platinum's 'fixes'.
Personally I find it hard to play because of the speed.

That's just a brief surf used as an obstacle so you can't get to Fortree wheh your pokemon are like level 20. It takes seconds to cross. It's not the same as the surfing you do for the last two badges.

You're right . I assert this point all the time. Gen 1 pokemon =/= kanto pokemon, gen 2 pokemon =/= johto pokemon, etc. sudowoodo, jynx, mr. Mime and lucario all aren't native to their first regions either.
