Nobody in the entire league was able to take down Darkrai outside of Ash. Darkrai single-handedly 3-0/6-0ed every trainer who encountered it, including the guy he faced after Ash.

Fun fact: Ash's Snorlax has only been KOed twice in the entire series. Both times were after knocking out 2 other Pokemon and weakening the third.

If Ash had Snorlax instead of fucking Torkoal, maybe he'd have actually gotten to the third Pokemon.
