Never really done much of this, Gen 3 had the best contests though imo. Also, secret bases

X and Y obviously since you customize them

Honestly the jump to 3D has been awesome, but Heartgold/Soulsilver perfected the classic overhead Pokemon sprite view and it looked fantastic. I suppose it's like how the SNES looked nicer than the 64.

kinda a tie of gen 3 and 6. However BW2's PWT was awesome.

Favorite by far is RSE. Damn hair hats

Gen 1. Really set the bar. rivals have been getting worse since. 1 was good, 2 was cool especially in the remakes. 3-6 got worse as they came out. however i actually like 6 more than 5.

i love new game progression so X and Y have it for me right now.

Gen 3. most of the time they are the ones i look up on youtube

The only game I played after HGSS was the first few gyms of a black ROM. Not a nostalgiafag, I just like my top-down 32-bit pokemans. Pokemon never was and never should be known for its graphics imo.

I have a feeling that guy misinterpreted the question because Gen 1's story basically came down to stop Team Rocket being evil and defeat the Elite 4. Swap TR out for any of the other region's teams, and literally every other gen is the same two plot points expanded infinitely, with a number of other story elements

Were the Gen 1 legendaries even mentioned at all by NPCs? Nowadays if a legend exists, you can bet some NPC will tell you about "there's an old legend that blahblahblahblah now it's asleep somewhere"
